Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail

Have I mentioned how important it is that I am on the faculty to teach a program planning and evaluation certification class for the Dallas Center for Nonprofit Management in Dallas?

The class is a part of the overall Nonprofit Management Certificate Program offered by CNM. What I appreciate most is the affordability for nonprofit leadership to apply best practices to their own organizations.

As a former Executive Director of an agency, I understand it is not uncommon for the staff and ED of an organization to lose track of time and to be so focused on clients that they forget to take time to plan.

Since our firm just offered a training on planning for the 4th quarter… we understand how time creeps past those in the nonprofit world… propelling everyone into chaos. This course with Dallas CNM is an intense version of taking your mission statement and ensuring that you are doing two things:

    1) offering the right programs for your mission; and
    2) you are evaluating your organization’s programs for effectiveness and
        potential capacity.

The best part of this class is that it offers a perfect blend of academic theory and application in the real world. How often do you find a course that spurs you into action which has a positive and measurable outcome?!

Didn’t register for the class on October 7?! No worries, the program is offered again in Wichita Falls, Texas on November 8th… and there are many other great classes you can register for between now and then by visiting http://www.cnmdallas.org/certificate_programs.aspx
